Several members of our team just returned from the Gartner IAM conference, where we were thrilled to meet in person with so many customers, analysts, industry leaders, and identity and access management professionals. Whether you are an existing customer, or stopped by because you heard about us from another partner or analyst – we loved meeting you!
In addition to cooking up some laughs at our booth thanks to our recently launched Secure Kitchen Cookbook, we also enjoyed conversations with fellow attendees, identity leaders, and speakers. Here’s what we took away as key insights:
IAM plays an increasingly relevant role in the overall enterprise technology stack
I spoke with Zilla’s CMO Mark Jaffe, who observed how the show is indicative of the increasing importance of identity within the enterprise infrastructure. “I have been attending IAM for years, and I’m encouraged and intrigued by how much bigger this conference has become,” said Mark. “It’s indicative of how important it is to properly manage and secure enterprise identities, and to do so without requiring astronomical time and cost.” In case you missed the announcement, Mark recently joined the Zilla leadership as Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, and he looks forward to meeting many of you soon.
IAM is ready for IGA Innovation
The vendor showcase floor was abuzz with both new and long-standing offerings – but it is clear that there are more opportunities than ever for innovation in the IAM, and specifically in the IGA space. The growth of vendors in this space amplifies the opportunity for a change from the old guard of legacy players. We met many attendees who are ready for a modern IGA solution that is built on automation and has more comprehensive integration capabilities, for a lower overall cost of ownership and a faster time to value. Many who stopped by our booth enjoyed chatting with our CEO and co-founder, Deepak Taneja, who has seen firsthand how the needs of IGA have evolved (and seized the opportunity to close gaps where legacy players haven’t kept up).
The Industry Still Needs a Comprehensive IGA Solution
Need Full IGA – importance of SOD and advanced visibility
Even though the market is asking for new alternatives to the legacy IGA options, identity leaders aren’t willing to sacrifice functionality. Light IGA won’t meet the requirements of the modern enterprise, as it lacks key functionality around Segregation of Duties, entitlement management, advanced identity analytics, and role policy management. While lighter solutions exist – they won’t provide the comprehensive policy management and visibility needed for today’s enterprise (or for today’s auditors). Zilla is a full IGA solution and contains all of these elements, and you can read more about our approach to IGA in our Modern IGA whitepaper and on our website.
If we missed you this year at Gartner IAM, you can still connect with us for a demo or to discuss your IGA strategy for 2025.
