Zilla Security is Now a CyberArk Company

by | Feb 13, 2025

I’m so excited to announce that Zilla Security has been acquired by CyberArk.

When Nitin and I founded Zilla in 2019, we recognized that rapid cloud adoption was quickly making identity the new foundation of enterprise security. We saw identity evolving from a business enablement issue to becoming the cornerstone of security and compliance.

We also realized that legacy identity solutions were too manual and needed too much effort. We envisioned easy-to-use, easy-to-deploy automation that could govern entitlements both broadly and deeply across a hybrid enterprise — that could plug-and-play with every Identity Provider, every HR application, every SIEM/SOC/SOAR, every ITSM solution — indeed every digital service in an organization.

Our quest led us to a simple, modern, AI-driven version of identity governance, a solution that snaps into the fabric of an enterprise in weeks, and delivers unbelievably fast time-to-value in terms of security, compliance and identity lifecycle management. And led us to serving 125+ customers — partners really, many of whom we Slack with daily.

Our success put us on a strong growth trajectory but also helped us realize that there was a market opportunity for a much broader identity platform, a platform that unifies ALL enterprise access controls, privileged and non-privileged, human and non-human, on-prem and in the cloud — a platform delivered at scale through the channel. Exploring these ideas drove us to join forces with CyberArk, a company I’ve admired for years, and undeniably, the market and technology leader in identity security for both human and machine identities.

Looking forward to the future as I glance at the rear-view mirror is bittersweet.  As I reflect on Zilla’s startup journey, and the fun times we had building a business, what stands out for me is the incredible teamwork that brought us here. I want to thank the exceptional team at Zilla whose hard work, innovation and belief in our vision got us to where we are. My heartfelt thanks also to our VCs and advisors for their sage counsel, and to all of the customers and channel partners that put their trust in Zilla. I’m immensely grateful and proud of what we have accomplished together.

Modern IGA was a small dream. Together with CyberArk, we will dream big as we deliver on the promise of a converged identity security and governance platform.
