My journey to Zilla Security stems directly from my professional experience with access reviews and my excitement about what Zilla Security is doing in the industry. Two years ago I embarked on a journey to pursue my graduate education full-time in both business and computer science after working in financial services technology in both project and product management roles. My goal in going back to school was to grow both my business and technical acumen and then join a growing, fast-paced technology company as a Product Manager. In my last role, I had spent three years in the CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) space, so cybersecurity was of particular interest to me.

During my job search, I was immediately interested in Zilla Security. Initially, I exhibited a bit of caution, as I have seen companies in this space overpromise on their offerings, or simply be marketing vaporware. If Zilla was the real deal though, I could envision myself contributing to their mission to help other companies more efficiently and securely manage the compliance, security, and provisioning aspects of identity. I very quickly learned that Zilla was exactly the type of solution I wanted to help build and grow.

I intimately understood the problem Zilla is solving for organizations. Given my background, I had experienced first hand the pains in gathering screenshots for audit evidence during lengthy access reviews. I also understood the importance of quickly onboarding new employees with the proper permissions so they could immediately be productive, as well as managing access to critical applications when employees moved within or left a company.

I was was immediately impressed with the Zilla team. The leadership team was staffed with sharp-minded industry veterans who had already built successful companies from the ground up and who had a clear vision for disrupting the IGA space by solving the problems I described in better and faster ways than the incumbents. I felt there was an immense amount I could learn from them while simultaneously adding value to the solution.

Fortunately, I was extended an offer and I gladly accepted. My first several weeks at Zilla confirmed my impressions formed during the interview process. Not only does the leadership team possess the deep identity and security knowledge that helps us create phenomenal products, but so do our engineers, marketers, and salespeople. We are building identity security solutions that our customers love and get value from, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
Looking toward the future, I am excited to be leading our Zilla provisioning solution, and I’m very excited about how we will continue to solve user lifecycle management challenges with this solution. I am confident we have the right team to meet this incredible opportunity in front of us, and could not be happier with the choice I made to join Zilla.
